FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 50. NSN. Massive dbl. bbl. flint o/u pistol measuring 13 3/4" overall w/ 8" rnd. bbls. Boxlock frame engraved w/ panoply of arms on right & armorial w/ central panel "S TIMMINS" on left. There is a rotating selector switch on left which allows firing of both bbls. at once or just 1 bbl. Center set cock has sliding safety. Checkered bag grips. Rarely are these lg. dbl. bbl. pistols seen, where sm. pocket model more often come to market. CONDITION: very good overall. Metal is overall gray patina w/ hints of case colors in protected areas of frame w/ staining & pin prick pitting. Grip is sound w/ hand worn patina & wear to diamond point checkering, sm. oval metal plate on butt cap long missing. Mechanically fine w/ clear smooth bores w/ grooved starter. (01-17278/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
