Overall length: 14 5/8". Blade length: 9". The clipped point bowie style blade is stamped at the ricasso, “US” & “1900”. Steel crossguard & pommel w/ 2 piece wooden grips held on by 2 steel rivets on each side. Blued steel scabbard w/ blued steel swivel belt clip. A difficult to find experimental bayonet made for the Krag rifle that did not pass trials & was not adopted for general issue. CONDITION: blade shows areas of original factory polish w/ some scabbard wear & light sharpening marks. Hilt shows very light wear w/ no oxidation. Scabbard shows minor loss of finish. (02-15020/BF). $1,500-2,000.
