Cal. 54. NSN. Bbl. 8 1/2" rnd. w/ smooth bore having brass blade front sight & oval shaped rear sight. Breech end of bbl. marked "US. / JH / P". Lockplate is marked "US. / R. JOHNSON / MIDDn CONN / 1842". Pan & all internal lock parts have matching "TT" assembly marks. Band fastened walnut stock w/ iron fittings & swivel ramrod. Left ear of stock has sharp clear "JCB" & "WAT" cartouches. CONDITION: very fine. Bbl., ramrod & band have lightly cleaned gray appearance w/ scattered spots of very light pitting. Back strap / buttcap & trigger guard retain 70% plated finish w/ spots of light pitting. Stock has lightly refinished age darkened appearance showing scattered dents & sm. marks. Bore is generally bright showing areas w/ lightly frosted appearance. (01-16886/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
