Rev: Farsi legend Jorj 6 Qaisar-i Hind Zarb Bhuj and AD date in numbers.

Uncirculated, Exceedingly rare.

Probably the rarest of the all coins of Kutch of modern times, this is most likely a 'presentation' strike, issued at or soon after the coronation of the Maharao in 1942. Unusually it follows a design that was discontinued in 1927, during the reign of Maharao Khengarji III, the father of Vijayrajji. Dilip Rajgor, in 'Standard Catalogue of Coins of Kutch State' mentions that only twentyfive pieces were struck to present to the dignitaries and they received the coin when the new Maharao visited the mint soon after the coronation ceremony. He also mentions that they are struck from 're-engraved dies' of Khengarji III's coins; however, the coin itself does not show any signs of such re-engraving.
