Gwalior, Madho Rao (1886-1925 AD), copper paisa, most likely Bhilsa, frozen RY 32 (retrograde), obverse has caparisoned royal horse with umbrella cantering to right, reverse bears 'Spear', 'Trisul' and 'three-pronged flower' symbols, 15.30g.

Good Very fine, Very rare.

This is a variety from a long series of copper Kachcha Paisas, most likely struck at one of the Sindhias' possessions in Central India. For each year, the symbol on the obverse (in this case, the horse) changes, suggesting that each variety was struck only for a year and the symbol was a date-code.
