Phil Tippett Collection - Set Used Apple Box - Lot C.

Original apple box used by Phil Tippett Studio throughout the companies history. Usually the most used item on a film set this apple box would've been used on such classics as The Ewok Adventure, Robocop, Jurassic Park, Starship Troopers etc.

In the film industry, apple boxes are the ultimate studio workhorses, used by grips and crew to raise set pieces, adjust camera heights, elevate actors, or provide quick seating.

Phil Tippett is the founder and namesake of Tippett Studio. His varied career in visual effects has spanned more than 30 years and includes two Academy Awards; and six nominations, one BAFTA award and four nominations, two Emmys and the advent of modern digital effects in motion pictures.

He is the inventor of the Stop-Motion technique called Go-Motion and even has a dinosaur species named after him: Elaphrosaurus philtippettorum.

Tippett Studio is a world-renowned visual effects and animation company founded in 1984 by legendary Oscar-winning stop-motion pioneer Phil Tippett and his wife, Jules Roman. Based in Berkeley, California, with a secondary office in Toronto, Canada, the studio is famous for bridging traditional stop-motion artistry with cutting-edge digital animation and computer-generated imagery (CGI). Over four decades, the facility has developed some of the most iconic creatures and visual effects sequences in cinematic history.
