Mughals, Shah Jahan I (AH 1037-1068 / 1628-1658 AD), Gold Mohur, 11.06gms, Khambayat Mint, AH 1069 ( 9 retrograde as P), RY 32, both sides legend within square, knots at each corner. (KM # 260.10). uncirculated Aurangzeb defeated Dara in the battle of Samugarh on May 29, 1658 (1068AH). He then stormed Agra and took control of the royal treasury. The confinement of Shah Jahan took place on 17 Ramzan 1068 (8 June 1658) on Ry.32 of Shah Jahan. Aurangzeb arranged for his first coronation on 31st July 1658 (AH 1068), however, due to some reasons did not issue coins in his name. The year AH1069 begins on 29th September 1658, tht is a good 3 months after Shah Jahan was confined. So all coins bearing 1069/32 and 1069/33 are post deposition issue.
