Mughal potentates in late 18th century - silver rupee in the name of Shah Alam II, 'Hami Din' couplet, Muzaffargarh mint, RY26, 'umbrella' and 'star' marks on the obverse, 11.22g.

Good very fine, Rare.

The location of Muzaffargarh is uncertain as yet. The mint appears to start operating in RY25 of Shah Alam II and was very likely located to the south of Delhi. Kanod has been suggested as a possible contender but Ballabhgarh is yet another option. The coins are most likely struck by some local Jat / Ahir Raja.
