Sultans of Malwa - Silver specially struck/presentation ('Nazarana') tanka of Nasir Shah (1500-1510 AD), no mint, AH 912, G&G M133 (plate specimen), 10.82g. Obv: Poetic hemistich in Farsi - Ankeh bar zar Muhr Zil-Allah fi al-Ardain Zadeh (“the one who strikes the stamp on gold of the shadow of God on the earth”). Rev: Poetic hemistich in Farsi - Sultan Nasir Shah ibn Shah Ghiyath al-din Zadeh (“Nasir Shah, son and born of Shah Sultan Ghiyath al-Din”).
Very fine, Extremely rare.
An exceptional piece with rare poetic verse inscriptions, most likely struck celebrating victory over the Nizamshahi kingdom of Ahmadnagar.
