Akbar (1556-1605 AD) - copper dam, Amer (Ambar) mint, AH 1007, 19.90g.

Very fine, Very rare.

Amer or Ambar was the seat of Man Singh the Kachhwah Rajput king, a close ally of Akbar and his brother-in-law. A mint, producing copper dams very similar in style to Ajmer and Chitor mints, operated for a very short time here. Known dates are AH1007 and 1008 and they might have covered a period less than one Gregorian calendar year.
