Memphis Belle (1990) - B-17 Memphis Belle Miniature Model Top Turret.
Original Top Turret from the B-17 Memphis Belle Miniature Model used in the production of the Michael Caton-Jones directed war drama film 'Memphis Belle' (1990), about the 25th and last mission of an American Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, the Memphis Belle, based in England during World War II.
Starring Matthew Modine, Eric Stoltz, John Lithgow, Billy Zane, Sean Astin and Harry Connick Jr. (in his film debut).

The top turret on the real B-17F Memphis Belle was an electrically powered upper turret located just behind the cockpit. It was operated by the flight engineer, who stood inside it to fire twin .50-caliber machine guns providing 360-degree defense above and beside the bomber.
While real Boeing B-17 planes were used for filming close-ups, several miniature models of various scales were created for wide shots and aerial group shots.
