South Karnataka - copper 5-kasu attributed to the Hoysalas, (c.12th-13th century AD), 5.00g. Obv: Ankush (elephant goad) on pedestal, flanked by sun and moon in an archway. Rev: Tamil legend tentatively read as Sri Posaleshwara.

Extremely fine, Very rare.

There are many varieties of this 'Ankush in archway' series known and the attribution to Hoysalas is tentative.
