Chalukyas of Kalyani, uninscribed fanam, attributed to Vikramaditya VI (1076-1116 AD), unpublished in Mitchiner or Ganesh, 0.36g. Obv: Stylised lion walking to right. Rev: Stylised representation of a peacock.
Extremely Fine, Very Rare.
The attribution of this type to Vikramaditya VI is on the basis that Gadyanas named 'Navilachinha Pon' ('peacock marked' Hoans) are mentioned in his inscriptions. It is plausible that this is a fractional coin in the same series.
