Maitrakas of Vallabhi, silver drachm in the name of 'Sharva Bhataraka', (300-400 AD), MAC4885-4887, 1.85g. Obv: Bust of king facing right, wearing crescent on helmet. Rev: Trident with a short handle in centre; Brahmi legend Rajño Mahakshatra Paramadityabhakta Mahasamanta Shri Gavadashrihasa.
Very fine, Very scarce.
The coin shows a remarkable similarity in execution with the so-called 'Bombay mint' drachms of Western Kshatrapas. The legend is truncated and ill executed, with some illegible inclusions.
