Chandellas of Jejakabhukti - copper coin of Jayavarman (c.1110-1120), Deyell 140, 3.38g, Obv: Warrior running to right with a bow and a bunch of arrows. Rev: Devnagari legend Shri Majja/ya Vamma/Deva.

Extremely fine, Very rare in this grade.

Jayavarman was the son of his predecessor Sallakshanavarman and was succeeded by his nephew Prithvivarman. Very little historical information is known about him. The Mau inscription calls him the residence of 'generosity, truth, policy and heroism'. The coin is exceptionally well-preserved with all the details clearly visible.
