Chalukyas of Kalyani, gold punch-marked gadyana of Jayasimha II Jagadekamalla (c.1015-1042 AD), similar to MCSI 725-726, 3.92g. Obv: Nine punches - 5x stylised lion facing left, 1x Kannada letter Shri, 2x Kannada legend Jaya, 1x Kannada legend Deva. Rev: blank.

Good Very fine, Rare.

Coins of this type generally have two punches of Kannada 'Shri'. However, on this coin, there is only one Shri and instead the name of the king ('Jaya') has been punched twice.
