Cannanore - Arakkal kingdom of 'Ali Rajas', anonymous lead cash / bazarucco, (c.1600-1700 AD), unlisted in major publications, 1.33g. Obv: Farsi legend Kalanoor. Rev: stylized design, most likely copied from the 'shield' of Portuguese coins or a pseudo-Arabic inscription.

Extremely fine, Extremely rare.

Lead cash / bazaruccos of the Cannanore kingdom are extremely rare - less than five examples are known to exist. 'Kalanoor' or 'Kalanaur’ was an Arabicized version of the Malayalam name 'Kannanur' or 'Kannur'. The coins were issued in all likelihood in response to the Dutch and Portuguese lead cash or bazaruccos.
