Commemorative silver medal celebrating 175th anniversary of India Government mint, Mumbai, 2005, 44.28g. Obv: Indian National Emblem in a wreath and Marathi inscription Mumbai Tānksāl Kāmgārānchi Avirat Sevā (unstinted service of the workers of Mumbai mint) 1830-2005. Rev: Depiction of a worker carrying the mint building on his shoulder and representations of coins; Hindi and English legends around.

The India Government Mint, Mumbai is one of the four mints in India and is located in the city of Mumbai. The mint was established in 1829 by the then governor of the Bombay Presidency and became operational in the following year. Initially governed by the governor of Bombay Presidency, it was transferred to the Government of India on 18 May 1876. Currently it is a subsidiary of SPMCIL (Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd.). Besides coins, the mint produces medals for Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, educational institutions, social service institutions, badges etc.
