MODEL 1900 SWISS ARMY LUGER, SN 1199, CORRECT
DEMO LOT
HOLSTER & STRAP. Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 1199. This is another example of a scarce, early, Swiss Model 1900 Army Luger, 1st series, third variation, with the relieved frame, second pattern thumb safety, and correctly dated military holster in excellent condition. As per all the Swiss M1900 Lugers, major parts are rust blued with strawed or fire blued small parts. The chamber area is roll marked with the Swiss Cross in Sunburst and the DWM monogram is on the toggle. Early features include the dished toggles with toggle lock, flat breech bolt, flat spring extractor, narrow trigger, and narrow grip safety but with the second pattern thumb safety lever with the slightly smaller checkered head. It has a 4.75" fast taper barrel chambered in 7.65 Luger. It has the later slightly larger Swiss Army acceptance proofs stamped on the barrel, barrel extension, rear of the frame and top of the toggle area. The left side of the barrel extension is stamped with the Geneva Cross/V for the Swiss inspector Herr Vogelsang. Checkered walnut grips and correct Disassembly shows all matching numbers. MAGS: one Swiss with the tin plated magazine body, thicker follower button, and an unnumbered wooden base with the metal discs on each side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correctly dated military holster that is marked on the back, G. LEHMANN/SATTLER/BERN 07. The holster is very fine with nice distinct markings on the back, intact stitching showing only light fading of the color on the face with some minor wear and scuffing on the front and back of the toe. The shoulder straps are very fine. CONDITION: a beautiful pistol with 98% plus of the original rust blue finish showing only minor edge and high spot wear on the sideplate and tips of the frame rails. Faded "halos" around the Swiss crosses on barrel and rear of frame. The smaller parts retain 85% of their straw color overall with the majority of the finish loss on the face of the trigger. The left grip screw, touched up, has 98% fire blue finish. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. Grips are in excellent condition with nice, distinct checkering showing only minor wear across the top of the checkering with no handling marks. The pistol hand cycles and dry fires correctly and the bore is excellent. A beautiful M1900 Swiss military rig that would be difficult to upgrade. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1414/LA). CURIO. $3,500-5,500.
