The famed Gatling gun was nicknamed the "Dragons Breath" It was quickly adopted by many nations and used initially as light artillery. Being chambered in many cartridges from the small 30-03 Springfield cartridge all the way up to 2". This miniature appears to be 1/5 scale version of the 50-70 Gov't caliber Model 1867 with Broadwell feed drum. Mounted on its correct carriage with period elevation and windage ( Traverse & Elevation) adjustments. The gun itself operates properly with the barrels rotating and the firing bolt moving internally. A masterful recreation in miniature. The collecting of Miniature arms is one of the earliest forms of arms collecting and is documented back to the Roman era. CONDITION, Very good with a slight amount of an aged patina to metal surfaces. The front bridle assembly shows evident of an earlier repair. The carriage is fine and slight amount of tarnish . The gun and carriage are mounted on a display board with a small plaque marked "GATLING GUN ARMY 67" Measures 15" tall gun is 16" long with carriage measures 27" Base measures 16"x27" ANTIQUE
