DEMO LOT
The Trommelhalter is a very rare & desirable accessory for the German MG34 belt fed Machine Gun that allows the use of the 75-rd. saddle drum in place of belts. This top cover was most often used in anti-aircraft configurations before being phased out in the early 1940s. On the mag. entrance doors, the left has a drop wing eagle w/ illegible code & larger number 17 further down, on the right door is a waffenamt w/ illegible code, also bearing the number 17 further down. On the mag. release button is a waffenamt w/ illegible code also bearing larger number 17. Serial number 3517 w/ other markings scratched out above. The top cover release bears large number 17 w/ drop wing eagle & illegible number. CONDITION: overall mechanical condition appears to be nice, though some of the markings seem to have intentionally been scratched to the point where they are no longer legible; the mag. release has a "V" shaped crack hat should be repaired in order to function to its fullest capacity. (02-13611/JZ). $1,500-2,000.
