Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 39220. Bbl. 5 1/2" w/ inverted V front sight & tangent 50-500 rear. Mfg. 1917-1919 w/ S#'s 1-150,000. Mauser legend on right side of frame & over chamber. Proper recessed panels, lightning cuts on receiver rails & Niter blue on appropriate sm. parts. All visible S#'s matching plus floorplate & both Red-9 grips having 33 grooves (normally 24). Crown U proofs & NS (new safety) marked sm. ring hammer. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1) Holster / stock numbered 1920 plus crown proofed. Attachment iron numbered 894 w/ easy fit to pistol. Very nice Niter blue on metal parts w/ patina on top of attachment iron. Wood w/ unfinished appearance plus two long dark streaks near bottom that appear to be repaired cracks; careful examination confirms they are just grain streaks. Some general very light marks plus 3 light gouges on right side in wrist area. 2) Very good brown leather carrier w/ nice original cleaning rod. Back of carrier w/ 1 row of 1 belt loop stitching broken. Back very clearly stamped: "Deutsche Werkstatten / A.-G. / Munchen / 1918". Light scuffing at base. Overall, very nice carrier. Consignor states WWI bring back by Major Thomas Stilwell of the FA 103rd, 45th Div. CONDITION: very good plus overall appearance w/ light high point wear. Grips have appearance of "9" being branded into wood w/ rough look to area between oval top & bottom curve of 9; paint is dull plus some missing at bottom of right. Near excellent bore. (20-889/NW).
