Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 39803. Bbl. 23 3/4". Import marked on left side of bbl. All visible numbers match upper band. Rifle imported & restored by Mitchell's Mausers. Receiver is marked on left rail "Mod. 98". Receiver ring marked on top "BYF" indicating Mauser mfg. & additionally dated "43". Receiver & bbl. retain German Eagle proofs & also an "X" mark indicating Russian capture. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective hood. Cleaning rod & bayonet bar are present. All milled furniture except stamped cup buttplate. Laminated stock set w/ steel takedown hole. Vintage German style sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Mitchell's Mauser Certificate of Authenticity. CONDITION: entire rifle has attractive arsenal rework finish on wood & metal leaving sm. spots of staining & light handling marks. Receiver ring has light pitting visible at stock line. Good bore turning gray in grooves w/ lightly worn lands. (20-334/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
