1940. Overall length: 19". Blade length: 13 7/8" w/ a 5" false edge. A bowie form blade stamped on one side “9277 CR. B. RAZOR STEEL MADE BY A. C. CORNELISON SCOTTSBORO ALA. U.S.A.”. The other side stamped “1940”. Asa Calvin Cornelison was a custom knife maker until he entered military service early in WWII. This exceptionally lg. bush/fighting knife is one of three made for WWII GIs. Knife has a 2 piece aluminum slab handle held on by 3 brass pins on each side. There is a leather thong at the pommel. The sheath is plain brown leather. CONDITION: knife shows light wear overall. PROVENANCE: Collection of Roger Ballard. (02-14865/BF). $600-900.
