Darth Vader's (David Prowse) belt buckle from the production or promotion of Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This belt buckle may have been created for use in the film or for a touring costume used to promote the release of the film. The piece was ultimately gifted to visual effects artist Phil Tippett during his time at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).

This aluminum buckle is painted black with three black tape decals applied on front, a metal clip glued onto the reverse, and the message "To Phil: 12-25-81 An Official Darth Vader Belt Buckel [sic] THANKS Ziff" engraved on the reverse by special project coordinator Stuart Ziff. Two decals have fallen off from age and the paint is peeling around the edges, but this buckle remains in good overall condition. Includes a letter of authenticity from Phil Tippett.
