A pair of film transparencies from the dawn of man opening sequence in Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey. These color large-format film transparencies, one labeled "136" and the other "162" in ink, depict barren desert landscapes seen during the iconic "Dawn of Man" sequence. This pair was originally used for projecting backgrounds on stage and originates from the Stanley Kubrick estate.

The transparencies include a letter from Kubrick's longtime executive producer and brother-in-law, Jan Harlan. They are in good overall condition with small tears and punctures. Dimensions (each): 8" x 10" (20.5 cm x 25.5 cm)

Estimate: $2,000 - 3,000
