Cal. about 60. NSN. Bbl. 9 3/16" oct. of Twist steel w/ smooth bore. Top flat is marked "LONDON". German silver blade front sight. Engraved trade lock marked "LONDON WARRANTED". Engraved replacement percussion serpent head hammer. Plain trigger. Pin fastened rnd. butt walnut stock w/ checkered wrist. Iron fittings include engraved butt cap, engraved pineapple finial trigger guard, faceted thimble & single faceted pipe. Wrist has rectangular German silver name plate. Tapered hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to mottled gray brown w/ pitting in breech area. Stock has worn checkering & finish w/ numerous dents & handling marks. Chips & cracks are found in wrist, top tang & lock areas. Right side of forearm has 6" added wood repair. Dark lightly pitted bore. (01-17440/DS). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
