MUSKET. Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 40" w/ 3 leaf rear sight. Breech end of bbl. & lock are dated 1863. Lock has American eagle followed by "L. G & Y / WINDSOR Vt". 3 Band full length walnut stock w/ iron buttplate, trigger guard & tulip tipped ramrod. L, G & Y produced 50,000 muskets 1862-1864. CONDITION: metal has cleaned gray appearance w/ scattered light pitting. refinished stock has areas of dark staining & shows scattered dents & handling marks. Bore retains sound rifling showing very sm. spots of light pitting. (01-16486/DS). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
