Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 001787791. Bbl. 31". Mum has been partially ground. Has characters for Type 38 rifle. Receiver marked on left side w/ interlocking circles, indicating mfg. at Koishikawa Arsenal. Mismatched numbers throughout. Bolt has oval knob. Large tang safety. Rear sight graduated to 2400 meters. Inverted V front sight. Cleaning rod is present. Mag., floorplate, follower & spring are not present. Guard screws replaced w/ rnd. head machine screws. Hardwood stock set w/ 2 piece buttstock construction. Buttstock has added red painted marks, appears "P. McGraath". Buttstock marked on right side w/ painted & stamped "77" & three Japanese characters. CONDITION: stock set has heavy wear, dents, staining & scratches. Metal has turned overall patina w/ wear, scratches, oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Bore is plugged w/ debris. (19-4983/RW).
