J. S. COLLINS CHEYENNE WYO. CARTRIDGE MONEY BELT
The Cheyenne shop opened in 1876 and lasted through 1885. They were arguable the most famous of all western saddle and holster makers as it was a JS Collins holster that was chosen and worn by Teddy Roosevelt while at his hunting camp in the early 1880's. This 3 1/4" money belt is stamped J.S. COLLINS CHEYENNE WYO. on the billet which has been let out for weight gain. Loops fit a .41 Colt cartridge which was available in the SAA Army and both the 1877 and 1878 model Colt's. It could certainly be worn with 41 ammo and for carry of a Colt SAA revolver even if loop is stamped 45 as we have never seen any other Collins holster stamped with anything but 45. Belt measures 38" from buckle post to middle hole in billet.
