Independent Kingdoms : Sikh Empire, Ranjit Singh (1799-1839 AD), silver rupee, Dar us-Sultanat Lahore mint, VS 1857, Herrli 08.06.04, 11.12g. Obv: 'Nanakshahi' couplet - sikka zad bar har do ‘alam fazl-e-sachha sahib ast, fateh tegh-i-guru Gobind Singh Shah nanak wahib ast. Rev: 'Julus' formula with Ber leaf symbol and date in the middle; mint-name at top.

A wonderful specimen exhibiting rich allure and a sharp strike, without any testmarks, offering excellent eye appeal.
About uncirculated, Extremely rare.

In 1799 AD, Ranjit Singh of the Sukerchakia Misl took Lahore and was made Sikh leader in 1801.
