Rohilla Chieftaincies - silver rupee in the name of Shah Alam II (1759-1806 AD), struck under the control of Najib Khan Rohilla a.k.a. Najib ud-Daula, as Chief Plenipotentiary for the absent Emperor, 'Haft Kishwar' couplet, Dar al-Khilafah Shahjahanabad mint, AH(117)4/RY2, 11.15g.

Extremely fine, Rare.

The coin was struck in the aftermath of the third battle of Panipat after Ahmad Shah Durrani returned to Kabul and Najib ud-Daula assumed charge of political affairs at Delhi. The reckoning of Shah Alam II's reign was fixed at the assassination of Alamgir II, ignoring the reign of Shah Jahan III.
