Miraj- Murtazabad, Silver Rupee, 11.33g, “Sri Ganapati/ Sri Pantpradhan”, in the name of Shah Alam, FE 122X/ RY 27, Obv: Devanagari legend “Shri Ganapati” above Persian legend, date below, Rev: Devanagari legend “Sri Pantapradhan” above usual Maimanat Manus formula, Mint name Murtazabad below (M&W# T2, KM# 332). Extremely rare to get full date and Mint name. Very fine+, exceedingly rare.
Very popular coin in Maratha series. These coins were struck by Patwardhan’s of Miraj for showing that loyalty towards the Peshwas.
