Maratha Confederacy, domains of the Kolhapur Chhatrapatis as overlords of the Senakhaskhel Shinde Torgalkar family - silver rupee, Torgal mint, in the name of Muhammad Shah, ba-Lutf Alah Badshah Zaman couplet, mint-name 'Narsinpur Sarkar Torgal, Trisul, umbrella and Nagari letter Sa (all inverted with respect to the Farsi legend) on reverse, M&W T1e, 11.19g.

The Shindes were a prominent jagirdar family under the Chhatrapatis of Kolhapue and controlled fiefs in Northern Karnataka. Later issues were called 'Nilkanthi' rupees due to the prevalence of Shaivite symbols and the fact they were struck by Nilkanth Rao Shinde.
