Overall length: 12 3/4". Blade length” 6 1/2". A very heavy silvered iron axe head & socket, likely of Indo-Persian origin & somewhat similar to a tabar. Blade is decorated in a foliate motif w/ a central crowned escutcheon featuring 3 crowned lions & 7 hearts resembling the Dutch Arms. Opposite the blade is a flush hammer like poll. 8” Haft is decorated w/ serpents & foliate designs. CONDITION: about 30% of the silver finish remains. Decoration is clear & striking in design. Overall, light wear but no damage. (02-13471/BF). $800-1,200.
