Cal. 54. NSN. Bbl. 8 1/2" rnd. w/ smooth bore & semi circular sight. Lock is marked "U.S. / H. ASTON". Walnut stock w/ brass buttcap, trigger guard, grip straps & bbl. band. Left side of stock has clear "NWR" & "WAJ" cartouches. Button tipped iron swivel ramrod. Approx. 6,000 mfg. in 1851-1852. CONDITION: metal has dark patina appearance showing surface rust & pitting. Dark heavily pitted rusty bore. Stock finish shows scratches & handing marks w/ spot of dark staining & crack around sideplate area. (01-17401/DS). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
