Grant McCune - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) - Tie-Fighter Studio Scale Model from the Grant McCune estate.

This studio scale tie fighter model has been assembled from original castings that were found in a storage locker belonging to the great model maker Grant McCune around 2016. There were many items associated with several projects Grant McCune and Apogee worked on. We have some of these items also available in the auction today.

One of the main unique features of this model is that it has the original metal venting in the black spacing of the wings. There is one other known studio scale model in private hands that has this which was the battle damaged Tie Fighter sold at auction by Richard Edlund.

Comes with a grouping of items found alongside the Tie Fighter in the locker adding to it's provenance including 2 X-Wing watermarked 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of paper which served as Grant McCune's personal stationary. Original flyers and advertising paperwork.

Also included is an "London International Advertising" award for Apogee productions.

Comes on a custom made stand. Made of black acrylic.

Measuring approximately 14 3/4" x 17 3/4 tall. 20" tall on the base.

Professionally assembled and painted by a current industry model designer.

The detail and the sharpness of this stunning model is amazing in person.
