Gall was born in 1840 and after his father was killed by enemies, his mother raised him and he was also guided by Chief Sitting Bull. Gall grew to be Sitting Bull's head lieutenant and became chief of the Kangiska Band. He fought in the Little Bighorn Battle, killing 1st Lieutenant James Calhoun and taking this revolver from him.
