ALL: cal. 8mm Mauser. Bbls. 29 1/4". 1) S# 2879R. Left receiver rail marked “GEW.98”. Receiver ring marked on top “V.CHR. SCHILLING SUHL 1917”. Marked on right side w/ Imperial proofs. All visual #s match except bolt assembly. Straight bolt handle. Lange graduated to 2,000m; inverted V front sight; cleaning rod not present; hardwood stock set w/ walnut hand guard; buttstock marked on right side w/ Imperial crown acceptance marks & “B”. CONDITION: stock set has added flaking finish over wear, dents, staining & scratches; buttstock has 2 lg. cracks on left side. Metal has lg. percentage of arsenal rework, black finish w/ wear, oxidation & scattered light pitting. Lock screws are not present in trigger guard. Very good bore. (20-2957/RW). CURIO. 2) S# 8444BB. S# matches on bbl., receiver, rear sight & trigger guard assembly. Receiver rail marked on left side “GEW 98”; receiver ring marked on top w/ Imperial crown Danzig; additionally marked “1920”; marked on right side w/ Imperial proofs. Bbl. marked over chamber w/ "droop wing" eagle, Weimar proof. Rifle is a transitional model used by the Reichswehr. They were given a modernized tangent rear sight to replace the Lange sight. Rear sight is marked underneath leaf w/ "SS" indicating rifle is correct to use w/ "heavy ball" ammunition. Rear sight graduated to 2000m. Inverted V front sight. Straight bolt handle. Cleaning rod is not present. Upper band retains parade hook. Narrow lower band. Non-matching walnut stock set. Imperial acceptance marks on right side of butt. Stock disk markings are very faint. CONDITION: buttstock is heavily worn w/ staining, dents & scratches throughout. Buttstock has notable damage on left side from a metal fragment which is still imbedded deep within the stock. Stock has extensive cracking on both sides due to impact of fragment. Stock has crack on left side around recoil bolt. Metal turning overall gray & patina w/ wear, light oxidation & scattered fine pitting throughout. Rear guard lock screw is not present. Rear sight has notably more finish than balance of rifle. Fair worn bore. (20-2958/RW). CURIO. 3) S# 2109A . All visible numbers match except bolt assembly. Receiver marked on left rail "GEW.98" & is marked on top receiver ring w/ Imperial crown & "ERFURT 1905". Bbl. marked on top of chamber "S". Lange rear sight, inverted V front sight. Straight bolt handle. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band retains parade hook. Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked on right side w/ worn Imperial proofs. Disk marked "67.R.E. 3227." CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, dents, staining & scratches throughout w/ added finish. Stock has notable gouge on left side over recoil bolt & on right side of buttstock at toe. Sm. area of white paint by butt swivel. Forend & bbl. have area of white stain between upper & lower bands. Forend has duffel cut by lower band. Metal has turned over all patina w/ oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Replacement bolt has retains 50% original blue. Poor worn oxidized bore. (20-2959/RW). CURIO. 4) S# 621AA. All visible numbers match except bolt assembly. Receiver marked on left rail "GEW.98". Receiver ring marked on top w/ Imperial crown, "DANZIG" & 1916. Bbl. marked over chamber "S". Lange rear sight graduated to 2000m. Inverted V front sight. Straight bolt handle. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band has parade hook. Walnut stock set. Acceptance marks on right side of butt have been obscured. Disk appears unmarked. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ added finish. Has wear, dents, scratches & staining throughout. Sm. gouge on top at heel. Crack at right top of grip. Metal has turned overall gray & patina w/ oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Rear sight has had metal removed on left side of slide. Replacement bolt does not seat fully home. Bore has solid full-length plug. (20-2960/RW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
