(Disneyland, c.1954) A pre-opening hand-drawn concept of the early planned waterfront buildings of Frontierland, created by Imagineer Herb Ryman. Ryman's panoramic concept elevation drawing is accomplished in pen and ink, with hand-colored enhancements throughout. It depicts the Golden Horseshoe on the left, with a planned "World's Longest Little Bar" at the center. Notably, the similar "Mile Long Bar" would open nearly 20 years later in 1972 as part of Bear Country. Ryman's concept represents some of the earliest pre-opening designs and ideas for Frontierland, highlighting the fan-favorite boardwalk area along the waterfront next to the Golden Horseshoe. Measuring approximately 13"x32.25", the large drawing is mounted on artist's board and presented in a 32.75"x11.25" frame. The piece is in very good condition, exhibiting mild color toning and areas of discoloration from age, and only minor wear from use.
