Cal. 30 Carb. S# CA00719. Bbl. 18". Iver Johnson version of the popular .30 cal. M2 carbine. Originally mfg. as & stamped “US CARBINE – CAL. 30 M1” prior to NFA registration as a select fire machine gun. Protected blade fixed front sight w/ windage & elevation adj. rear peep sight. Dark stain hardwood stocks. Closed bolt select fire mechanism. Selector switch located on left side front of receiver. Safety switch located right side forward of trigger. Standard bbl. band absent of bayonet lug. Blued finish on metal exterior surfaces w/ a purple hue to the receiver. CONDITION: wood furniture is attractive & aside from normal storage impressions void of any noticeable blemishing. Finish below bbl. band illustrates thinning due to mechanical intervention. Finish on exposed metal surfaces is complete w/ thinning on bolt. Bore is shiny w/ good rifling. Fire control mechanism, when cycled by hand appears to function correctly in full auto however the semi position illustrates full auto as well, something not uncommon to guns from CT. in an attempt to comply w/ bizarre state level law.
