CANNON FROM HMS VICTORY WITH MOCK UP OF GUNDECK RIGGING AND CORRECT STYLE ACCESSORIES. Carl Furr of Orem, Utah is known for his meticulously detailed, firing scale models of varying ordnance. This model of a bronze cannon from the HMS Victory has 10” bbl. including cascabel. Bbl. is nicely turned & polished steel, rests in well detailed naval carriage. Model is mounted on platform representing oak gundeck of the Victory w/ associated pulleys, lines, etc. for operation. Deck & representative side of ship are made of oak & held together by wooden pins (trunnels). Other accessories include water barrel & bucket which are brass bound & made w/ individual staves, a square wooden platform w/ 16 brass cannon balls, as well as associated rammers, mops & levers. CONDITION: very fine, brass parts starting to tone. (02-14741/MGM). $1,500-1,700.
