SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 39" CALIBER .75 SMOOTH BORE MANUFACTURED CIRCA 1795-1815. The 3rd model Brown Bess is also known as the Indian pattern. This being because it was developed as a lighter shorter variation of the earlier models and was adopted by the armies of the East India Company prior to its official adoption in 1797 by the British Gov't. Fine Tower marked Lock with royal "GR" Cipher and proofs. The tapered round barrel measures39" and is inspected and "GR" marked. Loading rod is held with 3 brass pies. The stock measures 50" overall. The stock has several small inspection on opposite side of the lock . CONDITION. Very fine uncleaned condition with a pleasant period patina. The stock is elegant with some period of use impressions and bruises but remains solid with no cracks or material losses. The lock operates properly and without issue.
