SERIAL NUMBER 15300 BARREL 5" CALIBER .45 ACP MANUFACTURED 1912. Polished blue finish with diamond pattern checkered walnut grips. Inspected on left side of frame by Walter C Penfield and marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on left side of frame. Slide has early 2 line patent and Colt Hartford address and Rampant Colt at rear of slide. Proper tapered narrow front sight and rounded rear sight. Left side of slide marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" Barrel is correct early barrel with "H" marking at top rear of hood and no other markings. Pistol is correct in that it has no "VP" proof on trigger guard and has single "H" inspection on topside of frame. Long smooth trigger, Long wide checkered hammer, short spur grips safety and smooth flat mainspring housing. Complete with early lanyard loop equipped key-hole slot magazine. A very uncommon pistol in its original as found configuration. CONDITION, Very fine with pistol retaining over 85% blue finish with losses at edges and period use. Bore is fair with oxidized grooves. Action operates properly. Magazine is good with slight staining at top. C&R
