Medal, Vir-e-Hind Medal, Azad-Hind Fauj, 2nd Class Star, Silver & Bronze, Star-shaped, 1941-1945, Obv: a Tiger’s bust on a radiating star with the name “Azad Hind” around the tiger’s head, Rev: central finishing disc along with the ring to wear, 34.3g, 57.63mm, about extremely fine, Extremely Rare.

Note: It is the Vir-e-Hind Medal of the Azad Hind Fauj, founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Subhash Chandra Bose instituted the Azad Hind decorations while he was in Germany, initially for the Azad Hind Legion, as awards for gallantry in battle. Germans and Indians were both eligible to receive the decorations. Later, the Azad Hind government instituted the same awards for the Indian National Army during its campaign in Southeast Asia.
