Bombay Presidency, Malabar Coast issue, gold 1/8 Mohur struck in the name of Alamgir II, posthumous RY9, not listed in Stevens, 1.43g, possibly ex-mount.

Very fine, Rare.

This fraction is unlisted in Stevens who only lists full mohurs and 1/3 mohurs (or Panchias) for the type. Given the correspondence of gold : silver values, the denomination could well have been intended for a gold 'double rupee' coin. 1/15th mohurs, struck as 'gold rupees', are well-known for the main series of Bombay gold issues so it is likely that a similar trajectory was followed for issues on Malabar Coast.
