Marked for the Navy 1904 Luger pistol. Box is sheet metal (zinc?) w/ brass fittings. Box measures approx. 9 1/4"x6 1/2"x4 1/2". Has 5 3/4" brass cover secured by 2 brass thumb screws. Box has metal loops on both ends for retaining strap. Cover is marked in center w/ crisp crown "M". Label is worn & mostly missing w/ some German lettering still legible. Cover has white label inside w/ red border marked "800 Scharfe Patronen Fur Pistole 04 (Zur Gchieb Ubung) Gundbutchen Pulver Lief Geferrigt" Markings are writing in fracture & spellings are approximate. CONDITION: box has well worn mottled gray appearance. Brass parts have dark oxidation. 1 Retaining loop is detached. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland.
