Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 1019. Bbl. 29 1/8". All numbers match except for bolt assembly & cleaning rod. Receiver marked on left rail "Gew 98". Receiver ring marked on top crown "ERFURT 1916" & also marked on right side w/ Imperial German proofs. Straight bolt handle. Lange rear sight graduated to 2,000m. Inverted V front sight. Has bayonet bar, upper band has parade hook & lower band has swivel. Detachable butt swivel is not present. Walnut stock set. Stock has unmarked steel marking disk & faint Imperial acceptance marks. CONDITION: stock set has moderate to heavy wear, dents staining & scratches over added finish. Has sm. crack behind receiver tang. Metal turning overall gray & patina. Bright receiver turned mostly patina. Fair worn bore turning dark. (19-5823/RW). CURIO. $300-500.
