(1960s) An early version of #201 by Oceanic Arts, this polished wood Tiki idol is a stylized representation of the Goddess, Pele. A stark contrast from the myth that the Tiki idol was predominately male. Female idols, though generally carved to indicate fertility, were also created to represent female power. None more so than the Goddess Pele herself! Represented here in beautiful koa wood, she stands upon a solid wood on base. 17.75"x5". VG+ with typical wear.
