DEMO LOT

(Disneyland, c. 2006). Offered here is a rare Disney Legends name tag from 2006, presented to Don Edgren. One of the highest recognition a Disney employee can achieve is that of becoming a Disney Legend. Mr. Edgren has also received the greatest honor of all, by having his name immortalized on a Main Street Window at Disneyland. In the world of collecting Disney Name Tags, the Legends Name tag is arguably one of the rarest and hardest to obtain. This is one of the highlights of the entire auction. Don Edgren began working with Walt Disney by leading the Imagineering team for New Orleans Square Pirates of the Caribbean. He also worked on the initial master planning for Walt Disney World and in 1969 moved to Florida as Vice President, Engineering of the Walt Disney World project. After the opening of Walt Disney World, Don moved back to WED in California and led the Imagineering team on Space Mountain. In 1979, Don acted the director of engineering for the new project of Tokyo Disneyland. Don returned to WED in California in 1983 where he was in charge for project engineers. He retired in 1987 from the Walt Disney Company. There are few early Imagineers that have had such a long and impactful engineering and innovative influence on Disney's first three theme parks.
